"There is something just so gross and wrong about throwing away those plastic grocery bags you get at the market, so at our house, we throw them in a drawer in the kitchen thinking we will somehow magically re-purpose them... but how? Weave them together and make doormats from them? If only we were so crafty.
This is finally the answer. I bought 3 in fuschia (why be basic, right?) and now I just keep one or two in my handbag at all times so that I can say no to the plastic at the store and just tote everything home in my own weightless little bag. They are also great for everything else, like hauling misc things to and from the car, throwing wet towels/bathing suits in after a trip to the gym or spa, etc.
The ripstop nylon is incredibly sturdy (more so than the flimsy plastic bags you get at the store) and carries as much weight or more as you could normally carry in said flimsy plastic bag.
